Israel Dairy Board Research – Fund (DBRF), policy and procedur

The goal of DBRF:

To support original research on the topics relevant to the well being of:

Dairy and Beef producers, life stock itself and consumers.

The nature of the supported research projects are defined entirely as applied research ones, which centered mostly on the major problems unique to the region.

Udder Health and Milk Quality

Small Ruminants: Unique problems

Budget:

Annual budget in total is approx.4,000,000 INS, Supporting around 60 research projects.

Procedures

The research senior steering committee which govern the Dairy Board Research grants, issue a call for proposals emphasizing certain topics, annually.

Most of the research proposals are initiated by the scientists.

Nevertheless, occasionally some are initiated by the research senior steering committee.

Comprised of 11 members representing the dairy milk producers (3) milk industry (2) scientists (3) governmental extension services (2) and Israel dairy Board (2).
